The BioMelbourne Network has announced that our Managing Director, Andrew Carter, has been elected by the Board to succeed Andrew Macdonald as Chair, effective from the 1st of July, 2015.
Andrew Carter was appointed as a Director in 2014 and has over 25 years experience working in the life sciences industry. He brings strong expertise and knowledge of pharmaceutical and medical technology commercialisation to the Network, with extensive connections throughout the wider industry sector.
“This is an exciting time for the BioMelbourne Network, and I am delighted to serve as Chair of the Board. Melbourne is a recognised world class location for the medical technology, biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry and associated professional services. The Network plays a critical role in ensuring that Melbourne continues to foster innovation and development in this most important sector,” Andrew said.
Andrew recently concluded his tenure as Chairman of Melbourne City Mission – one of Victoria’s largest and most diverse charities focused on ending disadvantage. Andrew’s long standing commitment to the medicines industry was acknowledged last year when he received the pharmaceutical industry’s highest recognition – the Pat Clear Award.
